Breast Lift

Excellent aesthetic result, visible straight away

Women’s breasts change over time, with their youthfulness and firmness disappearing. Changes and loss of skin elasticity may occur during pregnancy, breast-feeding, because of weight fluctuations, as well as with ageing, heavy breasts and due to heredity.

Breast lift is an invasive procedure that reshapes the contour of your breast by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue. It does not change significantly the size of your breasts or round out the upper part of your breast. If a woman wants her breasts to look fuller, she should combine breast lift with breast augmentation. If she wants to have smaller breasts, she should consider combining breast lift and breast reduction.

Breast Lift offers:

  • Improved breast shape, size and volume
  • Improved breast contour
  • Perfect aesthetic result
  • Complete breast tissue lifting and reshaping
  • Youthful shape and tightness
  • The nipple is repositioned to a natural height
  • Enhanced self-confidence
  • Improved sexual life

The surgery is safe, it is performed under
general anaesthesia, and it may last up to 21/2 - 3 hours. The first step in breast lift is to select the procedure, which depends on the level of skin sagging, the length and size of the breasts, skin quality and elasticity, as well as the amount of additional skin that should be removed.

The incision follows the breast contour, determines the skin to be removed, and defines the new position of the nipples, which are repositioned to a natural height, after removing excess skin. In certain cases, during the operation it may be deemed necessary to place minor tubes to avoid hematoma formation, which are removed after a couple of days. Following this, breast reshaping is performed and absorbable sutures are applied on the incisions. The final result is natural: the breast regains its youthfulness and tightness without affecting its size.

  • Natural result
  • Absorbable sutures

Diet Tips

From what age can I have a breast lift?
The right age is after 18 years old, when the breast has fully developed.
How should I prepare myself before the breast lift surgery?
Before the breast lift surgery, a mammogram or ultrasound is performed, depending on your age, to exclude the presence of any possible lesions (such as insidious breast cancer), and examine breast composition.
What should I do before the breast lift surgery?
You should avoid certain medications, such as aspirin, for at least 2 weeks before the surgery.
I am a smoker. Can I undergo the breast lift procedure?
Yes, you can, as long as you stop smoking for at least some weeks before and after the surgery, otherwise scar healing may be delayed.
Is breast augmentation a painful procedure?
No, you will feel almost no pain at all. You may feel some discomfort during the first 2-3 days, but this is very common and can be managed with certain medicines.
Will I be able to feel my breasts after the surgery?
After the surgery you will feel a bit numb in the area of the nipples and your breast skin, as the result of post-operative oedema (swelling). Nevertheless, numbness will subside after about 6 weeks, when you will be able to normally feel your breast again.
How long will the results last?
The results of a successful breast lift are usually long-lasting. However, factors such as pregnancy, sudden weight fluctuations, and ageing may affect, at least partly, the result.
When will I see the first results?
A 30-day recovery period is required. You will gradually start seeing the results within a period of 2-3 months, when the swelling will have subsided. The final results are fully visible after 6 months.
How will my breast be after the lift?
Initially it will be slightly swollen with a few bruises that will gradually subside. The results start being visible and aesthetically nice after the first month.
How long is it required for scar healing?
The scars caused during the breast lift surgery are minimal, and they will gradually fade out within a period of 12 months. The scars will remain on your skin, but they will be barely perceptible, just like a small stretch mark
Can I undergo a breast lift surgery during my menstrual period?
It’s better to avoid this because the bleeding potential is increased, and as a result your body is weaker. In addition, during your menstrual period your breast may be swollen, which may be misleading for the doctor.
What should I do after the operation?
A special dressing will be placed on your breast for 24 hours. On the next day, the dressing is removed and it is recommended to use a sports bra for 30 days to minimise swelling and provide “support” to your breast during the healing process.
When can I go back to work?
The recovery period after breast lift is not extended, but the time required before going back to work depends on the type of work you do. If it’s office work then the estimated recovery time ranges from 3 to 7 days. If it’s manual work, then the recovery time is extended to 1-2 weeks.
When can I resume physical exercise?
During the first days after the operation you may find it difficult to move your hands too much, but this is only temporary and you will soon feel much better. It is recommended to resume physical activities and go to the gym after 4 weeks.
When can I resume sexual activity?
During the first days after the operation your breast will be mildly swollen. You can resume sexual activity after 10 days.
When will I be able to drive again?
You can start driving again after 6 days.
When can I resume breast-feeding after the breast lift surgery?
Straight away. Breast lift does not affect breast-feeding, because the lactiferous glands are intact, i.e. not affected by the operation. The nipple remains functional after the operation and its sensitiveness is not altered.
My breast lost its volume after my pregnancy. Can I undergo breast lift?
Yes. Pregnancy is the main cause of breast sagging and volume and tightness loss. During pregnancy, the breasts get enlarged. After the end of pregnancy, its size and volume decrease again due to weigh loss. But the skin is sagging and your breasts may lose their roundness. Breast lift is a safe and painless solution to reshape your breast, giving it back its appearance as before pregnancy.
When is a breast lift surgery considered successful?
The aim of the operation is to lift the breasts and nipples to their normal height, shaping your mammary gland so that to support its new position. The result of a breast lift surgery is aesthetically nice when a) the result is so natural that it is difficult to understand that an operation was performed, and b) when the distances between the nipples and the beginning of the sternum and between the nipples are equal.
What is the difference between breast augmentation and breast lifting?
These two plastic surgery procedures should not be confused, although in certain cases both can be applied in combination, such as after pregnancy when the breast skin is sagging and breast volume is reduced.
How will I know that I need to undergo breast lift?
You will understand it if your breasts are fully developed (you are above 18) and your health status is good, but:
  • Your breasts are asymmetrical
  • Your breasts have lost their volume
  • Your skin is sagging
  • Έχετε πεσμένο στήθος
  • Your breasts have lost their tightness
  • Your breasts are smaller after breast-feeding
  • You like the size of your breasts but you are worried as they have lost their roundnessς
  • Your nipples point downward and/or below the breast crease
